Karen Matzkin is a lifelong resident of Montgomery County, Maryland, attending Bethesda-Chevy High School and later the University of Maryland where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. Karen has longed enjoyed careers where she has had opportunities to use her creativity and leadership skills to help inform others. She spent over 15 years working as a contractor with the NIH developing outreach to the K-12 community and the public. Karen has also enjoyed various volunteer positions including Football and Wrestling parent coordinator, bagged and delivered weekend food bags through the Manna Food Smart Sack Program to Gaithersburg area elementary schools, and most recently as the G-PARC Chair of the Alliance for Recreation. Today, Karen works as a real estate agent where she continues to help people understand the real estate market. When she is not working, Karen can be found hanging out with her family and friends, boating on the Magothy River, running, and swimming, or doing various crafts.
