A CELEBRATION OF BOOKS,
WRITERS & LITERARY EXCELLENCE

ABOUT OUR FESTIVAL

The Gaithersburg Book Festival is a celebration of the written word and its power to enrich the human experience. Our mission is to foster an interest in reading, writing and literary conversation.

Overall, this is one of the best book festivals I’ve done, and certainly the best organized. Kudos all around!

GARY KRIST, AUTHOR OF "CITY OF SCOUNDRELS"

Since its inception in 2010, the Festival has quickly become one of the nation’s top literary events, attracting hundreds of award-winning and best-selling authors, poets and songwriters from across the country to its beautiful park setting.

The event was conceived and introduced by Gaithersburg Mayor (then council member) Jud Ashman, with the support of the Mayor and City Council and the Cultural Arts Advisory Committee. The Festival is produced by a core committee comprised of city staff and a dedicated group of volunteers who donate their time and talent.

Funded in part by generous sponsors and supported by the City of Gaithersburg, the Festival offers programming for all ages, is free to attend and is open to everyone.

SPONSOR

Sponsoring the Gaithersburg Book Festival is a highly visible way to show that you support the community and value the arts, while gaining visibility with our attendees, who are among the region’s best-read and most well-educated individuals.

Entering into its fourteenth year, the Festival now attracts more than 20,000 attendees each year.

Because of the large scope of the Festival and the density in programming, the City of Gaithersburg is able to fund only a modest portion of the event’s expenses. We rely on the generosity of corporate partners, foundations and individual donors to help us deliver the world-class event that our attendees enjoy.

We offer sponsorships to fit a variety of budgets, or we can tailor a sponsorship plan to fit your needs.

Please e-mail Amanda McPherson at amanda.mcpherson@gaithersburgmd.gov to discuss your Gaithersburg Book Fair sponsorship!
