Hey Instagrammers! Get ready for GPARC’s Annual Photo Contest happening every Spring! It is your chance to showcase the finest of Gaithersburg’s Parks, Arts & Recreation. We want your photos to capture the beautiful connection between parks, arts, culture and recreation in our city. Remember, your photo MUST be taken in one of our City Parks. Choose from these exciting themes:

• Outdoor Activity: Show us how you get active in our parks!
• The Natural World: Capture the stunning plants and animals in Gaithersburg.
• Lovely Landscapes: Unveil the breathtaking scenic views and vistas.
• Art in our Parks: Highlight the natural or human-made art that surrounds you in our parks.

The top 12 photos will be announced at the end of May. A panel of jurors comprised of local artists, members of GPARC and members of the City’s Communication & Public Engagement Division will select the winners. In addition, GPARC will choose a random winner weekly during the month of April. GPARC will announce all winners on Instagram & Facebook and will notify them via social media channels. The objective of this contest is to expand GPARC’s social media presence through photo documentation of the City’s parks and activities.

GPARC will exhibit the photos virtually on its social media and may exhibit photos over the summer at select local galleries. The City may also use select photos in City produced print and digital publications.

There is no fee to enter, and GPARC will accept multiple entries from residents. City residents can find complete submission details here. GPARC board members, City staff, elected officials and their families are not eligible. For more information, please contact GPARC.
